This new release of Sherry Cask Malt is one of the most balanced ever. The fruity notes of apricots and peaches are enhanced by just the right amount of dry winey character, and the overall style is sweet, honeyed, but not cloying: it is robust in flavour, but agile in body, with a crisp leanness that ensures great drinkability and freshness. Extremely fragrant, flowery, loaded with spring flavours and a faint organic note, it’s a young malt that also has a spicy and mineral backbone that leaves the palate dry and clean. The subtlety, complexity and timeless charm of sherry cask maturation applied with a light and never overwhelming hand to a young malt never fail to fascinate.
